Future Archaeologists/Geologists at work!

Students got to dig through 20 million year old dirt donated from Aurora Phosphate and discovered shark teeth, sea urchin spines, coprolites, shells, and much more! They loved sorting through their fossils and comparing the sizes of the shark teeth they discovered.

  1. I really liked this activity because I found at least 12 shark teeth. Some were large, but some were small.

  6. At first I didn't find any shark teeth. After a while I found one. Then I found a lot because I knew what I was looking for. I found a really big one and a lot of small teeth. The biggest tooth I got, I showed it to Mrs. Herbert. Mrs. Herbert told me that it was the biggest one she has seen so far.
