Planting over 600 trees was a crucial part of the "I" am H.O.M.E. project. We went to Jean Lafitte Barataria Preserve and worked in groups to plant trees that will help protect our wetlands and our homes.
I think the I am H.O.M.E phrase was an amazing idea. I enjoyed working with my classmates to plant new trees. When we were looking for a place to plant the trees, we had to be careful not to step on the trees that were planted by the other students. It was a great experience.
When we all went to go plant over 600 trees I thought we were doing a great thing.I think if more people plant over 600 trees our state will be here in the future. I would like to thank 4th grade and Coastal Roots for letting me help my state's future.
When we went to plant trees I was so happy because I was helping the earth. If we don't help the earth people will not survive.That's why you and me need to plant trees and help the earth.

I like planting trees because it is fun because you get to use a dibble. And I go to the marsh every weekend. We need to make more trees in the marsh because Louisiana is losing wetlands rapidly.
When I went to Coastal Roots it was a lot of fun. Especially because we were helping the environment.One thing that was fun about planting trees is that I know I am doing something good for the Earth.
Earlier this year, when we went to Coastal Roots, I didn't know how many trees we would plant. When we finished, the number of trees that we planted was awesome! I knew we planted more than 100, but I didn't think we had planted over 600! Just imagine the number of trees we could plant if more schools and people participated! Over 1,000,000 trees!
I had a great time going to coastal roots because I heard that if nothing is done to protect our wetlands by 2050, 1/3 of luisiana's wetlands will be gone. It was a good thing that we made a difference!!!!!!
The Coastal Roots project was fun. We learned about the environment. We also learned that everything on the Earth was made of sun, soil, water, and air.
It was relly fun to plant trees because I felt like I was giving back to the Earth.I felt special.It was a great experience because I didn't feel like I had to do it,but I did it because I wanted to.
Coastal Roots was very fun. It felt good to help the environment. My mom had a hard time jumping on the dibbler! That was funny! It was awesome in an educational way!
Coastal Roots was fun because we got to see trees planted by the now fifth graders. We also got to plant our own trees which was hard and fun. That is why I liked Coastal Roots.
I felt great knowing that I was helping out my environment(H.O.M.E)while I was planting the trees at Coastal Roots. One day, the trees we planted will help protect our community and make a difference!!!
When I was planting trees, I saw that the world of nature is a very good place to be. I got to use a dibble to plant my four trees.
