Red Barn Farm pays MAAS a visit!

The Red Barn Farm came to visit all of the students of Metairie Academy on September 15th and 16th. Students had opportunities to hold baby chicks, rabbits, and ducklings. They got to walk and interact with a goat, see a variety of chickens, touch an 18 day old calf and pet a miniature horse. Mrs. Avegno even managed to catch the squealing pig! Students really enjoyed this field trip that came to them!!!

I had a lot of fun helping the third graders with the bunnies, chicks, and ducklings. I got a lot of help requests with the bunnies and how to hold them. I think the third graders had a lot of fun, too.

  15. The Red Barn Farm was really cool.I got to hold bunnies. The funniest part about it was was that we saw an electrocuted chicken. The funnest part about it was that a pig pooped on my teacher because it was probably scared. I feel bad about the pig. I was sad about how scared it was.I wish I could have a bunny at my house or at school. But my teacher would probably freak! She loves rabbits. It is funny how much she loves them. I got to pet a bunny, calf, chicken, and pig. The pig screeched so loud that I had to hold my ears. There was tractor from like the 1930s.Do you know that a gallon of gas was about back then -six cents!?!

The ducks tried to bite everybody.A freaky piegon that looks like Corella Deville. There was a hen that layed an egg. There were piegons with purms.
